Cathy + Julio = Married

August 20, 2010

Cathy and Julio had their beautiful wedding on June 8th, 2010 at the Lake Mary Events Center in Lake Mary, Florida. They had a great team of vendors, including our own “Mr. Big” package which includes Photography by Tabitha McCausland, Videography by Molly of Cinematique Films, Cake by Anna of Anna Cakes and Day of Coordination by Weddings in the City. Also working with us… DJ Les and Wendy of Soundwave, Officiant Rev. Glynn Ferguson of Sensational Ceremonies, Florals by Vicki of Peddles and Arthurs Catering.

We Loved being a part of their fabulous wedding day!!

There’s rarely anything we wont do to make sure the wedding day is flawless!! Cathy’s dress shop forgot to steam her crinoline and if it wasn’t, the integrity of the dress would be compromised. We didn’t want her to worry about anything and made sure by the time she walked down the aisle, everything was perfect!

Have you seen Tab’s new promotional video by Cinematique Films??

Tabitha is an amazing Wedding and Boudoir Photographer and we have the privilege to work together on many occasions!

We were so excited to have been there for the filming and to not only love Tab and Molly’s work but to also call them friends!! Great Friends!!! :)

Roy + Tina = Married

July 20, 2010

June 4th, 2010

We are thrilled to share the following pictures!! Tina and Roy had a beautiful garden wedding at Leu Gardens in Winter Park Florida. They intended on having their ceremony in the Rose Garden but inclimate weather pushed us inside. Lucky for us, Leu Gardens has the Lantern Room which has big open windows that truly bring the outside in.

We knew the food was going to be amazing, because it always is with Puff N’ Stuff… and the cake… too tasty for words by Anna Cakes. Kelly’s Flowers provided us with beautiful centerpieces and personal flowers and Carl from Premier DJ Entertainment handled all of the music/sound for the day. Thankfully, to catch all of the amazing details on film, we had Tab McCausland!!

As always we love our brides and grooms and enjoy sharing their details with you!!

Erin + Chris = Married

July 6, 2010

February 5th, 2010

We are so excited to share some amazing pictures from a recent wedding we had the privilege of being a part of in Winter Park, Florida. Erin and Chris were planning for an outdoor ceremony at Mead Gardens, but unfortunately good ol’ Florida weather had a different idea. We moved their ceremony next door to the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs and we able to keep everyone dry. After their beautiful ceremony we moved over to the Winter Park Farmers Market for their colorful reception.

Dennis Lee was on hand to capture each moment on film and Patricia LeJeune of Lejeune-PCA made sure the bride and her girls looked stunning. Debra Shea of Atmospheres Floral and Decor provided the fantastic florals, Jennie Rudberg and her team played beautiful music during the ceremony and Jay Edwards of Liquid Entertainment kept everyone on the dance floor all night long. Thanks to Kahuna Grill no one went hungry and It’s Tasty Too satisfied everyone’s sweet tooth. Thank you to my girls, Vanessa and Rachel for helping us make sure everything was perfect.

We are so excited to be sharing a few teasers from Melinda and Derrick’s May 29th, 2010 wedding!! Their wedding day was almost flawless… the only thing that tried to hold us back was the rain… but we fought back and had a beautiful indoor ceremony at the Wyndham Orlando Resort!! The following pictures were taken by non-other than the fabulous Tabitha McCausland, the amazing wedding recap video is provided by Jeff and Molly Brown of Cinematique Films, Bryan Taylor of Tagas Event and Production Services kept the dance floor packed all night long while Donna Cooke and her team at Wyndham Orlando Resort served amazing food and kept the drinks flowing all night long. Debra Shea Robertson with Atmospheres Floral and Decor provided the beautiful flowers and even pulled together some amazing indoor elements to transform the ballroom ceremony!!

I love me some Tab!! :)

Love this movie poster that Molly created!!!

Congratulations Melinda and Derrick!!!

Today’s chic bride isn’t afraid to get down and dirty, even in her wedding gown. Now, you may be a bit hesitant to really “trash” your beloved wedding gown, but most of the time, unless it’s very delicate fabric, the gown can be cleaned and returned back to its original state. Trash the dress sessions happen in parks, on beaches and even in your own back yard. The following pictures have been taken by the very talented Tab McCausland, she loves to make her brides feel comfortable and beautiful at the same time!!

Our own bride, Alyssa recently had her own TTD session and I had the privilege of being with she and Tab during the photo shoot. We had a blast!!!

And of course… I helped Alyssa out of the fountain!! :) I loved being there for this shoot!!! We all had so much fun!!

Ashley and Mark are one of our couples with a complete and cohesive theme!! Watch out sports fans…. these two are true Magic Fanatics!! :) Not only are their wedding colors royal blue, black, silver and white…. but they are having an “Orlando Magic” themed wedding, complete with “Stuff” bobble-heads for table numbers and many other surprises we aren’t sharing yet. Ashley is one of our more serious DIY brides… this girl can create anything she sets her mind to!! She even has a blog dedicated to all of her projects.

They originally planned on tying the knot in Cocoa Beach, but their original venue had a fire and unfortunetly wouldn’t be repaired in time for their wedding. Thanks to some quick thinking and fantastic connections they were able to secure the Buena Vista Palace for their Ceremony and Reception!! We cannot wait to see Ashley and Mark’s vision come to life!

When did you get engaged? We got engaged on December 26, 2008.  We were celebrating Christmas that day, since we could not celebrate it on the 25.  I thought I had the big surprise, because I had gotten Mark a PS3 for Christmas, and I was able to keep it a secret.  But, the surprise was on me!  I had NO idea it was coming!

Who are the Wedding Vendors you have already decided to hire?

Wedding Coordinator: Rachel Crawley with Weddings in the City

Photography: Tab McCausland

DJ: Jay Edwards

Cake: Anna Cakes

Videography: Cinematique Films

Florist: Andrea, A1A Florist

Officiant: Julie Clover, Dream Beach Weddings

Dress: Alfred Angelo

Bridesmaid Dress: David’s Bridal

What is your venue and why did you choose it?

Our venue actually chose us.  We were originally going to be getting married in Cocoa, at the Space Coast Convention Center (at the Holiday Inn Express)-  well, the hotel caught fire, and could no longer host our wedding.  So, we had to look some more.  Through the help of my AMAZING vendors, we were introduced to Buena Vista Palace, and are in love!

What are you most excited about for your wedding day?

EVERYTHING!! I can’t narrow it down!  I am most excited to finally be marrying Mark, but I am also excited to see all of our friends and family in one place. and I am really excited about all of the little details that are involved with the wedding.

Are you keeping a wedding blog while you plan? Why is this helpful?

I am.  Mine is a DIY blog that shows off all of the projects I have been working on.  I have seen that there are quite a few people that are interested in the projects I have done, and want to try them for themselves.  So, as I complete my projects, I post them on my blog, with directions, so that people can try these things for themselves, as well as see all of the things that I am working on.

Is there anything you are nervous about for your wedding day?

Not really.  We have hit a lot of bumps in the road while planning for this wedding, so that has made me pretty tough.  I have definitely learned the “everything happens for a reason” attitude.  I have a lot of amazing vendors working for me, so I know that everything is going to be wonderful, and I have nothing to worry about!

What is your wedding theme going to be? What inspired it?

This is by far my “favorite” part of the wedding.  Our theme is Orlando Magic.  Both Mark and I LOVE the team!  The wedding theme all started with one little garter set.  When Mark’s sister got married, she had a Florida Gator garter.  I knew I HAD to have an Orlando Magic one for when we got married (keep in mind- I wasn’t even engaged yet). So, I found one, and stored it for when we finally did get married.  Then, when Mark proposed, I went looking for the garter, and could not find it!  So, I went to order another one, and in the process, found the most adorable cake topper that was Magic themed.  I eventually found my garter, but in the process, turned our wedding into a fun, Orlando Magic themed wedding!

Where are you planning to go for your honeymoon?

We are planning on going to San Francisco.  We will spend a few days in the city, sight seeing and having fun (Alcatraz is a must), and then head out to Yosemite for a couple of days!  I can’t wait!  We love traveling and seeing new sights, so this should be a lot of fun!

What are some of your favorite wedding planning tools (websites, blogs, books, etc)?

The Knot has been a huge help to me!  All of the gals on the CFL board are amazing, and have helped me with vendors, projects, etc.

Is your husband-to-be helping with the planning? What are his jobs?

Mark does not have much to do with the planning process.  That is definitely my job!  He goes with me when there are big decisions to be made:  like food.  He gives me his opinions on things as I ask, but for the most part, I do all of the “hard” work.

What is your best advice to brides who are currently planning their weddings?

Stay organized!  Get a game plan together as soon as possible.  That is definitely what has helped me the most.  I have lists of things to do, and I tackle them one at a time.

And, just remember that everything happens for a reason.  If you hit a bump or two in the road in the planning process, just remember this!  We have definitely had our share of “bumps”, but everything ended up working out for the better!

Are you planning to see each other before the ceremony? Why or why not?

Yes!  We want to try and spend as much time with our guests as possible, so this is one of the main reasons we decided to do this! Plus, I love the idea of having the “alone” time together before the wedding.  I know we will both be filled with nerves and jitters, so this is a great way to calm each other down!

What are three words that describe how you feel right now?

excited, nervous, anxious

This photo booth wall concept is certainly unique. We love the idea of having a second photographer available (even if just during cocktail hour) to take pictures of your guests in this photo booth wall. Your guests can then sign a scrapbook that you can add the pictures to later, you can have a photo printer available for instant printing, or for an even more vintage feel, why not have your photographer use a Polaroid camera for instant pictures.

This fun and unusual option, that you can make yourself, to enhance your guest book, is one your guests are sure to talk about for years to come.

This week’s featured bride is Miss Erica!! We cannot wait for her fabulous wedding at Casa Feliz in a couple of weeks. We are busy in the office finalizing all of her details and keeping her as stress free as possible! :) Her colors are blue, brown and burgundy and she and Chad are expecting around 90 guests (the perfect number according to Erica)

When did you get engaged? March 6, 2009

When is the Big Day? May 15, 2010

Who are the Wedding Vendors you have already decided to hire?

Cake: Anna Cakes

Florist: Carly Ane’s Floral Studio

DJ: White Rose Entertainment

Ceremony/ Cocktail Hour Music: Mark DeHaven, Guitarist

Officiant: Rev. Glynn Ferguson

Outdoor Lighting: Kaleidoscope Production Services

What is your venue and why did you choose it?

Chad and I were pretty particular about what we wanted in a wedding venue. I wanted something “vintage” with a little history and neither of us wanted it in a hotel or ballroom. We also wanted our wedding not to feel and look like every other wedding that we’ve been to. I was also very particular about the aesthetics. I refused to even consider a place that had parquet dance flooring or banquet chairs. Casa Feliz met all of our criteria and more.

What are you most excited about for your wedding day?

Chad and I have been together for seven and a half years so I am excited for the entire day but especially the part where we say our vows to each other and thus become Husband and Wife, FINALLY!

Are you keeping a wedding blog while you plan? Why is this helpful?

Yes I am! Who knows if anyone ever reads it but I blog, or try to blog weekly. I find it helpful because it keeps all my wedding ideas and thoughts in one place. It is also an easy way to keep our bridal party and parents up to date on what is going on with the planning.

Is there anything you are nervous about for your wedding day?

Rain! Our ceremony and reception are outdoors. I try not to think about it because I don’t have the weather reports for our day yet.

What is your wedding theme going to be? What inspired it?

Our Vintage theme is actually inspired by our venue, Casa Feliz. This historic house inspired everything from our wedding colors down to the smallest detail like our cake topper. This property is gorgeous and I didn’t want to take away from any of it so I deliberately tried to choose things that would compliment Casa Feliz.

Where are you planning to go for your honeymoon?

Aruba! A whole week of no email, work or phone calls. Heavenly!

What are some of your favorite wedding planning tools (websites, blogs, books, etc)?

The Knot’s Message Boards, Hot Pink Brides, Style Me Pretty and Ruffled.

Is your husband-to-be helping with the planning? What are his jobs?

Yes, Chad, AKA “Corporate Approval” is involved in the planning. When I first started planning I thought I was going to do this all on my own but I found out relatively fast that he had opinions, especially about the cake topper. Who would of thought?! His only Solo jobs are setting up the Rehearsal Lunch and the honeymoon but he has been involved in helping to decide everything from vendors to wedding favors.

What is your best advice to brides who are currently planning their weddings?

Get organized, go with your gut and try to take things with a grain of salt. Notice how I say “try”. It is easier said then done and I have yet to master this but I’m still attempting to take my own advice.

Also, for your own sanity, get a Day of Coordinator. I don’t know what I would do without Ashlie. I didn’t plan on getting a “DOC” because I’m a control freak and thought I could do it all myself until I realized enjoying my own wedding day was more important than worrying about all the details and set-up. She is the Yin to my Yang and always calms me down when I’m having a crisis over candles or flowers. She has been an amazing help so far, becoming a really good friend, and worth every penny.

Are you planning to see each other before the ceremony? Why or why not?

We are not a traditional couple so we are planning on doing a first look. I think the moment when you a couple sees each other for the first time, whether it be walking down the aisle or not, is personal and I didn’t want to share that with everyone. I wanted something just for us. I also anticipate that I am going to be a happy, but emotional train wreck, so I figure if I see him before I won’t be totally loosing it while I’m walking down the isle.

What are three words that describe how you feel right now?

Elated, Excited, and Anxious.
